Thereafter, in mid-April 2017, a finalist will be selected and receive written correspondence about the award of the Ligaya Scholars Program.

Why the Ligaya Scholars Program?

Day by day, an increasing number of individuals growing up in impoverished communities are losing the opportunity to improve their futures through the access to higher education. As a result, entire generations are affected negatively.

Ligaya would like to make a difference in our communities by offering a chance for one individual each year to change their future projector (and that of their community) through higher education. As a result, these potential future leaders, especially those drawn from groups that have traditionally and historically been denied access to higher education, will be provided with the necessary support and opportunities to earn and complete a college education through the Ligaya Scholars Program.

About the Ligaya Scholars Program

Ligaya LogoThe Ligaya Scholars Program is being established in 2015 to provide outstanding local and international minority students (including African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander, and Hispanic) with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in any discipline area of interest.

Ligaya’s vision in offering this scholarship opportunity is to allow those minority individuals (around the globe) to have an opportunity to garner their education and return to their respective communities as individuals that will be looked upon as role models, leaders, and potential change agents within their respective generation, no matter what their social or economic background may be.
